This is the wedding trailer for Laura and Bobby that was shot over Memorial Day weekend.

We used one Canon 60D, two 5DmarkII’s, bunch of Canon and Sigma lenses, Glidecam 4000HD and the igus slider for the moving shots and Final Cut Pro and Color for editing.

The cameras were set with the Technicolor Cinestyle profile for the whole day of shooting. Color grading was a breeze and that profile really helped make a huge difference. A full writeup on this trailer and the feature will be available once the feature is near completion.

A big thanks goes out to Lisa Robinson for helping me shoot this! Great friend and great photographer! Check out her site: www.softboxmediaphotography.com

Welcome to the NEW zoomandfocus.com! Finally, I have the new site in place and running. It took some time only because I hardly knew what I was doing and kept running into errors. I finally realized my host was the big issue (it was not as compatible with the WordPress platform as some others). So I migrated hosts, transferred my domain name and voila, the new site is active, the errors are gone (hopefully) and everything functions as it should.

Now I know there are still some pages without content and not everything is completed. But that will change in the coming days and weeks. My main goal was to get this site up and running for everyone to see.

This photo was taken on October 18, 2010 from behind the Bayfront Convention Center just West of the tower. Luckly the rain held off long enough for me to snap this photo. Ten minutes later, a downpour came though and ended my night of photography.

It’s not everyday there are green leaves in Erie, PA on Presque Isle. The cold winter months can last nearly 2/3 of the year with snow fall amounts in the hundreds of inches.

Walking through park on October 15, 2010, I stumbled upon this path. Notice on the ground the many leaves that have fallen from the trees. It is fall, but to have so many green leaves left, well that just warrented a picture. While it’s not compostionally stunning, the color of the path is what stood out to me most. Unfortunately, with this being Erie, these colors didn’t last long.

This picture represents my first experience with long exposure photography. This was taken in the middle of the night, around 11:45pm on October 17, 2010. The lines in the circular pattern are actually the stars. This exposure lasted 20 minutes and because of the rotation of the earth, those lines formed. This is looking North over Lake Erie from Presque Isle Beach 6.

I saw it fitting to photograph an empty bench facing into the great unknown. Many of us see our life this way; I know I do. I’ve spent countless hours on benches like this one thinking about what life has to offer me, or what I have to offer it. I’ve thought about where my life will lead and exactly how much control I have in determing its very path. This bench represents to me the chance to dream and more importantly, the chance to follow my dreams.

Yes, I know, I’ve said that line many times. But I’m finally making progress with my new site design. I will be honest, I did purchase it rather than build it on my own. And the reason being is because I am not a web designer nor claim to be one. I tried going the route of building my own site with Dreamweaver, but it just became too much of a hassle and it felt like I was going nowhere. But the new site I purchased will launch soon and when it does, I’ll explain all the details about where I got it and why I chose that particular one. I may also have to change hosts to a company that is more compatible with WordPress. I am going to try and do the migration during the middle of the night so as to not disrupt any of the visitors experiences. However, there could be bumps on the road and the site itself may be down for a bit.

That’s my update for now. Keep checking this page and I will post a definite date as to when the new site will be coming online and if and when I’ll be moving to the new host.

A new website is coming very soon… I promise! I’ve been diligently working on a new site for the past month. I’m almost done with filling in the content and within the next few days I can move on to the testing phase. It’s taking me a lot longer because I am not a web designer and I don’t claim to be one. I got a great looking template that I am modifying to fit my taste. I can understand some of the code and process of how to build a website. But I certainly do not have the skills to build one completely from scratch.

Along with a new site, I did take delivery of an extremely large amount of camera equipment! I really want to say what I got, but I think I’m going to wait until the new site is up. I’ll have a whole page dedicated to just my camera gear and technology.

The next big update is the site itself! I’m nearly finished with a new website (an actual website, not just a blog). However I will still have a blog on my page talking in-depth about my work. I’ll also be rolling out a couple new features for Zoom And Focus. Oh, and did I ever mention I got some new camera gear? Yeah, you’ll see pictures of everything once the new site is launched.
